What do I need to get started?
To begin training with Hoosier Elite, all you need is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. For on-field sessions, players should bring a lacrosse stick, cleats or turf shoes, a water bottle, and appropriate athletic wear. Where’s a good place to buy lacrosse equipment?
We recommend checking out reputable retailers like:
Empire Lacrosse (Indianapolis)
If you’re just starting out, reach out to us—we’re happy to guide you toward the right equipment for your level and budget.
How do I know what position I should play?
New players often start by trying out different positions. During our training sessions, we observe player strengths, preferences, and tendencies to help guide you toward a position that fits your skills and style of play. Whether it's attack, midfield, defense, or goalie—we’ll help you find your place.
Does my player need a USA Lacrosse membership?
For most local clinics and training sessions, a USA Lacrosse membership is not required. However, participation in official tournaments, leagues, or our summer travel team may require a current membership for insurance and eligibility purposes.
What kind of stick should I get?
Stick choice depends on your age, skill level, and position. Beginners can start with a basic complete stick from a trusted brand. As you progress, you may want to upgrade to position-specific setups (e.g., a long pole for defense or a goalie head). Not sure what to get? We’re happy to give personalized recommendations.
